Griffin Miller

Co-Chair, UNEP

Dear Committee,

My name is Griffin Miller, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania. I’m thrilled to be serving as your Chair for the United Nations Environment Programme at this year’s UPMUNC conference. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background, experience with Model UN, and interests outside of committee.

I am in the College of Arts and science studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) with a minor in Cinema Studies and Urban Real Estate. In high school I was involved in my Model UN club where we travelled to other universities and participated in conferences. I really enjoyed my time as a delegate and I am very excited to return to model UN this time as a chair to help guide the committee over the weekend. Throughout my extensive time as a delegate I’ve done it all from fighting to be a sponsor on a resolution paper to fighting someone in a dinosaur costume in a crisis committee. I’ve learned what it takes to cultivate a proper and exciting experience for the chair and I am excited to create an energetic and stimulating conference.

Around campus, I’m involved in several organizations, including Sigma Alpha Mu and the Penn Ski and Snowboard Team. In my free time, I love to cook, go for runs, and design clothing. I’m also passionate about sustainability — I’ve written research on food insecurity in urban areas and worked on sustainable farms to support local communities.

Overall, I am super excited to chair this committee and I am committed to making it a great experience for everyone involved. I am looking forward to meeting all of the delegates this fall and seeing how the conference unfolds. Thanks for the opportunity; I can’t wait for what’s ahead.

Best regards,

Griffin Miller
