Aarit Bhatnagar
Chair, La Casa de Papel
Dear Delegates,
My name is Aarit Bhatnagar and I look forward to meeting all of you at UPMUNC this year! I will be your chair for the La Casa de Papel committee. In this committee, you will be tasked with guiding Spain and our group through one of its most turbulent periods in history. Hopefully, you are able to find a way to work together while furthering your own objectives, and we can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.
As a variety of characters who are all involved or pulled into the heist on the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, it will be your responsibility to pull off your goals of either peace or chaos for Spain. In this turbulent time, your quick thinking, military skills, and ability to bargain for your personal gain will be key in making sure you all make it out alive from this delicate situation.
About myself, I am a senior at the University of Pennsylvania from Westport, Connecticut. I am studying Economics and History (concentrating in Diplomatic History) and minoring in Data Science and Analytics. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing soccer and tennis, as well as watching a wide variety of sports, with some of my favorites being Formula 1, soccer, and football. I also love traveling, exploring restaurants in Philadelphia, and watching movies. Feel free to ask me any questions about Philly, college life, or anything else outside of Model UN too!
I have been passionate about international affairs for a long time, and participated in Model UN in high school. I am also the Director of Penn’s competitive Model UN team, Intercol, and have been a chair and crisis director for multiple committees in both UPMUNC and ILMUNC (Penn’s high school conference).
I’m looking forward to helping you guys decide the course of this committee and working with you to ensure this conference is an amazing experience for everyone. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions before or during the conference.
