Amanda Garbellotto

Crisis Director, La Casa de Papel

Dear Delegates,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the La Casa de Papel Committee at UPMUNC!

My name is Amanda Garbellotto, and I am thrilled to serve as your crisis director for this committee. I am a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Statistics, originally from São Paulo, Brazil.

At Penn, I have had the privilege of staffing our collegiate MUN and representing the university on our competitive travel team. This will be my third time staffing our college conference, second time in our spanish crisis committee and I couldn’t be more excited. As a high school student, I participated in several national and international competitions, including those following European and American parliamentary procedures. Beyond MUN, I am actively involved in the Society of Women Engineers, and also enjoy baking and spending time with friends.

Since this committee takes place in the middle of the heist, you should expect nothing less than a fast-paced crisis, unexpected turns, and the constant challenge of piecing together limited information. Every decision will carry weight: the atracadores are trying to secure their escape while the police scramble for inside knowledge to stop them. The success of the committee will depend on your ability to think quickly, adapt to shifting circumstances, and work with (or against) your peers under pressure. My best advice is to come ready for uncertainty, lean into the chaos, and enjoy the thrill of writing (in Spanish, of course!) the next season of this story together.

In conclusion, I hope this conference creates wonderful memories for everyone, providing an opportunity to make new friends and step out of your comfort zone to think differently. Please feel free to reach out to me and Aarit at any time if you have any questions. I can’t wait to officially meet everyone in November!

Sincerely,

Amanda Garbellotto
