Rohith Yelisetty

Crisis Director, 1800 U.S. Presidential Election

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to UPMUNC 58! My name is Rohith Yelisetty, and I am honored to welcome you to the 1800 U.S. Presidential Election committee. As your crisis director, I am excited to dive into this pivotal moment in American history alongside you.

The election of 1800 was a defining moment in our nation’s early years, as it marked the first peaceful transfer of power between rival political parties. This fiercely contested campaign between President John Adams and Vice President Thomas Jefferson reflected deep divisions over the country’s future direction. As you take on your role as your assigned character, I encourage you to be creative with your role. In committee, I am looking for delegates who are bold, creative, and unafraid to take risks with their roles. The more inventive and dynamic you are in shaping your character’s actions, the more engaging and memorable this committee will be for everyone involved.

A bit about me: I am a freshman from Herndon, VA studying Artificial Intelligence in the School of Engineering. Outside of UPMUNC, I compete on Penn’s Intercollegiate Model UN team (INTERCOL), help run ILMUNC, our high school Model UN conference, while being involved in Penn Aerospace and Penn Hyperloop.

My fellow staffers and I are thrilled to work with you in committee. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
