2019 Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party
In 2019, the CCP had been ruling China for almost 70 years. In the process, it has transformed the country into a geopolitical behemoth that seems to be catching up to the US economically, politically, and militarily. However, with world hegemony seemingly within China’s grasp, problems arise. The region of Xinjiang has experienced significant ethnic and religious upheaval, destabilizing the frontier. Hong Kong, China’s wealthiest city, revolts against new laws that threaten the city’s autonomy. A hostile new President takes power in the United States. Finally, a mysterious disease started spreading in the city of Wuhan.
In this committee, delegates will be charged with representing the members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, China’s most powerful political body. In the conference rooms of the Great Hall of the People, they will have to deal with the many crises that arise that year, while also advancing their own self-interest. Their actions will decide the fate of China and the world.
