Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the SOCHUM Committee at the 55th UPMUNC! My name is Anjie Wang and I am honoured to be your co-chair for this committee. I am currently a junior at the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Science, majoring in Philosophy, Politics, & Economic and History. I am originally from Auckland, New Zealand and I am very excited to participate in MUN outside my country.

At Penn, I am the director of the International Affairs Association’s Community Outreach and Engagement branch. We organise International Relations related events for high school students in the Philadelphia area. Outside of MUN, I am on the Student Committee for Undergraduate Education and my current project focuses on enhancing mental health support for Penn students. I am also involved with the ANZAP board which organises social events for Australians and Kiwis.

We have not decided upon the topic for our committee yet. However, the topics we are currently considering all centre around critical issues faced in the global community. We will update you once the topics are finalised. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or anyone else on the SOCHUM team. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Sincerely,

Anjie Wang
