Hailing from a suburb of Los Angeles, CA, Risha originally thought it would be hard to fall in love with Philadelphia -- a city that is truly LA’s polar opposite. Thanks to UPMUNC, however, she became enamored with the city and all it has to offer. She is more than honored to serve as this year’s Secretary-General and cannot wait to welcome you to the city of Brotherly Love in the fall. When she’s not planning November’s conference, Risha is studying Finance and Operations, Information and Decisions in the Wharton School. She is also failing to muster the courage to walk five blocks to the gym, or she is blasting her “mainstream stuff” playlist through her roommate’s speaker. Definitely feel free to catch Risha at conference, because more than anything, she loves meeting new people and striking up interesting conversations!
A native of the Philadelphia suburbs, Rohan has spent his whole life in the secluded woods west of the city. A member of the Class of 2018, he studies in the Wharton School. Rohan plans to concentrate in Business Analytics and Statistics. Once upon a time, in 7th grade, Rohan participated in a single Model UN conference. Rohan is still not too sure what a “Crisis” committee is or why Model UN conferences have dances, but he still loves UPMUNC anyway. Outside of Model UN, Rohan remains a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys playing tennis and soccer. As Director-General, he hopes to make UPMUNC 51 the best conference yet.
Born in obscure Fier, Albania and raised in slightly less obscure northeast Ohio, Fjora is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences, pursuing a degree in International Relations and minoring in either Spanish or Modern Middle Eastern Studies. In her free time she enjoys spending money she doesn’t have on concert tickets and eating ramen noodles. You can also find her rooting for Cleveland’s various sports teams, whether they’re winning or not. Fjora is super excited to make UPMUNC 51 an amazing conference for everyone!
Originally born in France to two loving parents but raised in the US, Canada, Germany, China and Belgium, Remi is often confused about where he comes from. A sophomore in the College of Arts and Science, Remi plans on majoring in Economics with a possible second major in Computer Science. He loves ice hockey, travelling, watching Game of Thrones and of course hanging out with the UPMUNC crew. He could not be more excited to be Chief Operating Officer for UPMUNC 51 and cant wait to meet all of you at conference.
Dano Major comes from Manhattan Beach, California, a lovely town where the temperature rarely (if ever) drops anywhere below 50 degrees. Thus, it is clear to anyone who knows Dano that she is experiencing quite the weather shock… and apparently it is only going to get worse (?!). When she is not shivering as she walks around Philadelphia (which is NOT always sunny), Dano can be found laughing alongside a number of super funny ladies in Bloomers, Penn’s sketch and musical comedy troupe, debating in various locations across the country with Penn’s Intercol MUN team, or searching for some new places to get yummy food and coffee. She is studying in the College, where she plans to major in Physics or Econ and minor in Spanish. Dano has thoroughly enjoyed her past five years in Model UN and cannot wait to make all of your UPMUNC experiences great (again).
Wendy hails from New Zealand, a country best known for hobbits and having more sheep than people. She studies at the Wharton School of Business, where she is undecided about her concentration, but interested in Management and entrepreneurship. In her spare time, Wendy loves to travel, go to concerts and discover nice cafes. Wendy has been involved in Model United Nations since her freshman year of high school and is beyond excited to help bring you the best UPMUNC yet!
Having quickly discovered that it's not really always sunny in Philadelphia, California-native Ellie often wonders why she left 60 degree winters for snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures. She currently studies both chemistry and political science in the College of Arts and Sciences. While Ellie didn't discover Model UN until college, she is honored to serve as a USG of Crisis Committees at UPMUNC LI. Even with the cold East Coast winters, Ellie loves running, hiking, and spending time outdoors. Outside of UPMUNC, you might find her volunteering, watching The Office, or overdosing on caffeine. Looking forward to an amazing conference, and dan't wait to get to know you all in November!
From Pensacola, Fl home of the best beaches (and most old people). She is planning to major in Criminology and Political Science as a part of the class of 2020. She also plays on the club ultimate frisbee and lacrosse teams. In her time off from dropping frisbees she enjoys eating and watching an unhealthy amount of One Tree Hill.
Mark comes from the mean streets of Long Island, New York. After leading his High School MUN team, he brought his talents to UPenn and settled in on the UPMUNC secretariat. Mark showers regularly, and is set to graduate in 2020 with a major in Political Science and a concentration on International Relations. When he’s got some time to himself, Mark likes to sit down with a novel, practice his guitar playing and work on his standup comedy routine. His parents love him very much, even if they keep forgetting what UPMUNC stands for. More than anything else, Mark likes having a good time, which is something he’s sure to bring to conference this fall.
Born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Daniel Salib found himself coming to Penn to study Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to Penn, Daniel had no formal MUN experience, but has learned a lot from working on UPMUNC. When he isn’t studying, you can almost always find him playing FIFA or watching Suits. As Director of Operations, Daniel hopes to make this UPMUNC the best one yet and to meet all of you!
Born in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, William was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences studying Materials Science and Engineering as well as Computer Science. He enjoys playing tennis, watching all that Netflix has to offer, and he is an active member in his fraternity. He is excited for UPMUNC L and cannot wait to meet all of you at the conference.
As anyone who grows up on the streets of Brooklyn, Danny spent his early years pretending to be good at basketball and using deadass way too much slang. When he's not busy tending to his dorm room turtle Pumpkin, Danny studies in a dual degree program called Huntsman, where he's getting muy bueno at Spanish and learning business acumen within Wharton. In his free time, Danny writes short bios about himself and plays checkers. He is beyond excited for UPMUNC LI, so look out for the exciting nightlife he will be working to bring to the conference as director of SPEV!
Born in Singapore and raised in Hong Kong, Katherine misses authentic Asian food every single day. Nevertheless, she is extremely happy to be part of the Class of 2020 where she studies in the Wharton School. In her free time, you'll find her being confused by American slang, exploring Center City, snacking on seaweed, and explaining to people why she snacks on seaweed and that it is indeed normal. Katherine is super excited to be the Director of SPEV for UPMUNC 51, and she can't wait to plan fun and memorable (or unmemorable ;) ) events for all the delegates! See you all at conference!
Born and raised in an unknown city renowned for its food (its Indore in India for you plebs) Muskan is loudly and very proudly Wharton '20. However her prominent distinction is her superb taste in coffee. With the little time that she is not at Starbucks, she plans to concentrate in Finance and Management with a minor in Computer Science. As the Director of Operations for UPMUNC LI she can't wait to make this conference a thundering success!
Born and raised in London, Alex is half Canadian and half Italian, with a German mother, making her even more confused than she already was as a blonde. Alex is a freshman in the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business, where she is targeting German and hoping to concentrate in Finance and Management. Alex's passions include trying to scare her parents in as many ways possible, mainly through skiing, sailing and travelling. She is thrilled to be a Business Director of UPMUNC LI and looks forward to making this conference one to remember.
Mark is a member of the class of 2020 in the College of Arts and Sciences at Penn and plans on majoring in International Relations and Economics. He was born in Hungary, lived in Indianapolis for most of his life, and currently resides in Boston. To pursue his dream of becoming an international spy, he currently has three citizenships: American, Hungarian, and Dutch. When he's not busy travelling and saving the world, Mark greatly enjoys learning different languages and playing soccer. He's volunteered to serve as conference bodyguard this year as well, having practiced and taught taekwondo for over 10 years. He has taken part in Model UN for all 4 years of high school, but is looking forward to exploring the conferences from a different perspective. Mark is incredibly excited to serve as a Business Director for UPMUNC 51 this year and meeting all of you wonderful people. Let's make this the best one yet!
