I'm proud to say that work on UPMUNC XLII has already kicked off. We here at Penn are striving to make your next MUN experience in Philadelphia the best one yet, and look forward to working with all of you in the coming months.
The Secretariat is making some changes in this year's conference to make your experience better than ever. Registration will be streamlined and simplified, conference operations will be updated, and our committees will comprise a great mix of traditional UN bodies and dynamic simulations. That's not to mention DelegateFest, for which we are already actively searching for a newer and better location.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at upmunc@gmail.com and expect a prompt response from Jay or I. We're always looking for your feedback to improve the conference.
Good luck on the circuit, and we look forward to seeing you in November!
It is my honor and pleasure to be serving as UPMUNC 2008's Chief of Staff. At UPMUNC, we take the staffing of our committees very seriously. We conduct two staffing sessions per conference and interview every single applicant before they are assigned as a Chair, Vice Chair, Crisis Director, or any other position. This way, we are able to find the perfect fit for each staffer based on his or her experience and personality.
All of our staffers are incredibly committed to, and passionate about, Model UN. They put a lot of effort into researching, writing, and rewriting committee topics. For Crisis Committees, our Chairs and Crisis Directors work together closely to orchestrate an engaging conflict. Before conference, UPMUNC also holds various training sessions on parliamentary procedure and writing background guides.
As Chief of Staff, I communicate directly with the Undersecretaries-General and the staff. Our ultimate goal is to make your conference experience at UPMUNC exceed your expectations!
