A History of Excellence
Now in its forty-second year, UPMUNC claims thousands of people from all walks of life as satisfied alumni, who have appreciated the conference's innovation, realism and excitement. The conference continues its tradition of being located in Center City, Philadelphia, America's first capital, and home to the nation's first diplomat: Benjamin Franklin.
A Passion for Innovation
UPMUNC is resolved to continue its pattern of innovation for 2008. Logistically, all of the necessary information is going to become much easier to find, with our operations getting more efficient, as well as with our development of a new and improved website. The Secretariat has also worked to introduce even more diverse and interesting committee offerings, with all of our 18 committees unique in size, type, issues, or geographic relevance. We're even creating a novice-training session on the first day of conference, to give those new to Model UN the skills to succeed in debate!
A Devotion to Realism
The UPMUNC Staff is one of the most down-to-earth groups of people you will meet. With a common passion for international affairs, the staff brings together a group of experts on all the issues being discussed at the conference. Around 200 Penn students make sure that UPMUNC has a 1:5 staff to delegate ratio, which is perfect for quick responses and general efficiency. Additionally, our staff is trained well in advance, and will be able to meet your every need.
A Tantalizing Balance
While we all look forward to world-class debate, what would a Model UN conference be without some fun? UPMUNC provides the perfect atmosphere for a good time. Located at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, rich history and entertainment are at your fingertips. Enjoy the city we call home, but make sure not to wear yourself out before Saturday, when we will have our always exciting DelegateFest.
