About UPMUNC

A History of Excellence

UPMUNC claims thousands of individuals as alumni who have appreciated the conference's innovation, magnitude and spirit. With a forty-two year history, Ivy League charm, and the setting of America's first capital which was home to the nation's first diplomat, Benjamin Franklin, UPMUNC epitomizes the rich university-level Model United Nations experience.

A Passion for Innovation

UPMUNC is always aspiring to better itself, to innovate and create, and this year we aim for nothing less. We plan on having two MUN training sessions for the benefit of first-time debaters, hosting a very distinguished high-ranking speaker from the United Nations, providing each delegate with the ultimate MUN experience by having 22 committees unique in size, type, issue, and/or geographic relevance, and filling each night with an optional activity/event. And these are just a few of our ideas.

Philadelphia A Personalized Experience

The PENN staff is the backbone of UPMUNC. With a shared passion for international affairs and a wide range of academic interests and expertise, the trained staff powers UPMUNC with its magnitude, motivation, and down-to-earth attitude. Around 250 Penn students make sure that UPMUNC has a 1:5 staff to delegate ratio, which is perfect for quick responses and general efficiency.

UPMUNC Spirit

Beyond academic and professional, UPMUNC is always guaranteed to be fun. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, clubs, restaraunts and shops are at every delegate's fingertips, along with the series of events and activities, including the infamous Delegatefest, that we have planned for you.
